As the world changes, so do our responsibilities
Reducing our environmental footprint is part of our responsibility as an industry player. For us, the ecological transition is a lever for action, a driver of innovation, and a shared responsibility embraced by all our teams, providing meaning and coherence to our industrial and strategic decisions. Our ambition is to combine industrial excellence with environmental responsibility.
This commitment is reflected in a structured environmental policy aimed at ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing emissions, discharges and waste from our operations, optimizing the use of natural resources, and raising awareness among all employees. This approach is part of a continuous improvement process, based on performance monitoring and the regular identification of areas for improvement.
We implement this through tight waste control, improved energy efficiency initiatives, and a growing shift to renewables. It also drives our sustainable mobility practices and supplier relations, encouraging responsible behavior across the value chain.
Environmental considerations are one of the criteria we integrate intro our project management, equipment design, and stakeholder dialogue. This collective commitment is guiding our direction in the years to come.
Our environmental framework isn't a limitation, it's what drives us forward
By obtaining ISO 14001 certification, our French and Spanish production sites demonstrate our dedication to continuous improvement. It reflects our ability to embed environmental priorities into our day-to-day industrial operations.
This ambitious framework is supported by the daily commitment of our teams, who are actively working to reduce PIERRE GUERIN’s environmental footprint over the long term.
Each year, our CSR efforts are supported by the Ecovadis assessment, helping us track progress, steer our action plans more effectively, and reinforce transparency in everything we do.
A more responsible energy, a more sustainable industry
Reducing our energy consumption is a key priority at the heart of our environmental transition. At our Niort facility, 13% of our electricity is already self-produced through 750 m² of solar panels. This initiative is further supported by an energy contract that includes 20% renewable electricity, helping to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.
In Spain, our subsidiary is following the same path with 240 solar panels installed on site. Together, these photovoltaic installations have cut our greenhouse gas emissions by 19.23 tonnes.
In China, 2,200 m² of solar panels have been installed, carefully positioned to preserve natural ventilation and lighting in the indoor areas. The system generates nearly 1,000 kWh per day, or over 360,000 kWh annually.
Ambition 2027: transforming our practices, together
Our environmental policy is based on a structured approach, gradually formalized through a series of internal projects. These initiatives are designed to enhance our CSR performance and embed a culture of environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
Key priorities include waste reduction, sorting and recovery, eco-design, energy consumption control, the promotion of sustainable mobility, and the gradual formalization of our environmental approach through structured projects supported by tracking indicators and aligned with a continuous improvement process.
Implemented transversally, these initiatives bring together all teams and actively support one of the five strategic pillars of Ambition 2027: becoming an eco-responsible organization.
Shedding light on our impact is already a step toward reducing it
To enhance our environmental governance, we’ve implemented a structured carbon tracking system using the Dodeca tool.
It enables us to measure our greenhouse gas emissions across all three GHG Protocol scopes.
This study contributes to building a decarbonization roadmap in line with global climate objectives, while strengthening stakeholder transparency.
It enables us to identify the most relevant areas for improvement, prioritize our actions, and firmly embed the reduction of our environmental impact at the core of our industrial strategy.
A momentum driven by our group
Our environmental policy is aligned with the broader strategy of Equans, a Bouygues Group subsidiary. As a global leader in energy and services, Equans supports its clients daily in navigating the energy and digital transition.
Structured around clear goals, decarbonization, energy sobriety, waste reduction, responsible mobility, and sustainable purchasing, their path to carbon neutrality helps guide our own. It connects our local efforts to a global ambition shared by all Group entities.
